Customer Loyalty Matters
We do our best to take care of our customers' needs because your business is our business. The strongest compliment we can receive from a client is a referral for our services. That is why we are returning the favor beginning in 2007. Whenever a referral you make to us results in a completed sale, we will give you a $25.00 gift card to a local department store or eatery! We take pride in customer service at Webtivity Designs and this is just one small way to give back to our loyal customers.
(Be sure the company you refer to us mentions you so we give you credit for the referral.)

My Journey to the USA
There I was in Brazil, after graduating in advertising and quitting the job that was holding me back from my dreams. I decided to venture to the biggest Brazilian city in the third world, Sao Paulo. There, I completed some other courses before I started looking for a job. After a while, the only thing I received was some occasional work as a freelancer, which was barely enough to pay for my beer on the weekend. After 18 months I realized that it was not the type of work for me.
Sick and tired of everything, I wanted to change... make things different. I wanted the international experience of graphic design, work, and the lifestyle. I started my journey by first sending a couple of emails around the world; London, Ireland, Italy, and the United States. I was asking for an opportunity to work, not really expecting a response. To my surprise that same day I had a lot of feedback, but the only one with a real opportunity to meet my goals was Webtivity Design Solutions. So it all began with the email response from Priscilla.
I kept in touch with her, probably about more than a hundred emails in less than a month. She had lots of questions before I came, and finally she said yes. So I decided to come for three months.

This was a good amount of time for us to get to know each other and I was able to show her my abilities.
What a crazy guy, coming to the United States without knowing anybody, for a job that for all I knew wasn't even real. You know, it could have been someone playing around with me, who knows? You can find everything on the web, good or bad.
It wasn't easy to leave my family, friends, and especially my girlfriend who supported me since the beginning.
When I first came, I didn't know what to expect…and I was not sure if I made the right choice. Even as I walked into the airport, I didn't know if there was really someone waiting for me. As soon as I grabbed my bags, there he was, Cory holding a sign with my name on it. Thank God!
Working as a designer here has been one of the greatest experiences that I have ever had. Especially working with the great team at Webtivity Designs. Dealing with differences, clients, culture, and manners - these things helping me improve my skills in design and to be a better professional. So I'm thankful for everybody in the company.
Now its time to go home, it's Christmas, and I still have a couple of weeks here. Only time will tell if I will be coming back next year? I hope I can!

A Not so Nice Gift
Now that Christmas has passed, it's time to enjoy all your presents and relax. At a second look some gifts might not be so nice. A recently a devious shower radio has been turning up on neighbors doorsteps. These shower radios have built in AM FM radio, digital clock, a front mirror, and what you might not realize a small hidden wireless USB camera.
The two way mirror conceals a small color camera which transmits to a USB receiver that can be plugged into a computer,
|
which can be located in a neighboring house or apartment.
The makers of this product say it's a security tool, although the many websites that sell different models have suggestive photos and ideas.
A similar product which came out a few years ago was an alarm clock concealing the same hidden device. So especially when getting gifts from a secret Santa or neighbor it's always a good idea to inspect your gift.

Charity in America
When it comes to giving, Americans by no comparison are on the top of the list. Three quarters of Americans give to charity on average $1,800 each. So who is really opening their wallet to help the less fortunate?
Of course it would be logical the rich give the most, middle class giving the second most, and poor giving the least. That in fact is not the case. Yes, the top 7% who average an income of over 1 million dollars make up 50% of all charity dollars. But, while the rich do give more in overall monetary terms, according to the Social Capital Community Benchmark Survey, people at the lower end of the income scale give almost 30 percent more of their income.
What about the political differences? Most people would assume, that the Democratic Party |
with its humanitarian and government assisted living policies would give the most. This is not the case. In the top 25 states where people give an above average of their income, 24 were red states in the last election. You will also find that people who believe it's the government's job to make incomes more equal, are far less likely to give their money away.
One of the biggest differences of charity providers is faith driven. People who attend church regularly are more likely to give to charity, and when they give they give more —an astonishing four times as much. And this is not just to their churches. Religious Americans are more likely to give to many different groups, even explicitly non-religious charities.
When it comes down to it, giving is a personal decision and can only be made by the individual, but I think it's safe to say it's a rewarding act for both parties.
