B2B Spotlight
B2B Spotlight: Meena Bopaiah SEOENG: Search engine optimization engine

Name:
James Fink
Occupation: Chief Operating Officer

How do your company's services benefit the general public?

Our proprietary software system ‘SEOENG’ analyzes websites like the Search Engines; empowering our customers to control their website’s ranking and visibility on the Internet. SEOENG is a Search Engine Optimization Engine. We have removed the guess work out of ranking a website high for keyword searches. We see the same data that the Search Engines see, and we are fortunate that we are able to pass on accurate information to our clients. We work with our clients to formulate the best plan of action for their specific market, and utilize our Automated Website Analysis to obtain accurate and real world results. When the right visitors are landing on a website, the potential for revenue growth is unmatched.

Greatest achievement to date?

SEOENG is my greatest achievement. It is the culmination of over 10 years of research and development. We have been studying the way that Search Engines function for what seems like an eternity, and since they are constantly changing it looks like we will be studying forever. It is truly a blessing to have the ability to offer our clients a solution that works, and will benefit everyone involved.

Character trait you most admire?

I most admire people who are honest and straightforward. It takes a lot of self-confidence and life experience to express ones true feelings.

When are you the most productive?

Productivity comes in many forms at different times. It can be that inspirational thought that comes to me at 3am, or a week of hard work that ends in triumph. I often find myself being the most productive after someone or something has inspired me to reach for my goals.

When are you the most bored?

I am too busy to be bored! Remember, the Search Engines are constantly changing their algorithms and we strive to keep our technology current.

How do you define success?

Success is a supportive family, great friends, and living in the Florida sunshine. Who could ask for more?

Are you involved in, or have you had any experiences/extra activities that you would recommend to our clients?

My wife and I belong to many of the local clubs and organizations here in Lakewood Ranch. It is a great way to meet our neighbors, and find friends who have similar interests.

From your experience/expertise, do you have any suggestions for small to medium sized business owners just starting out?

I would most definitely recommend joining your local Chamber of Commerce. Not only will you be inspired by your fellow business owners, but you will have an opportunity to be a part of a very supportive network of professionals.

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?

My wish would be that I am inspiring others by my actions. I am very proud of everything that I have achieved, and hope that the speeches that I make and functions that I attend serve to inspire others to achieve their life goals as well.

Max Media : Decisions your Business needs to make about your Web Site Design!

SEO/SEM Do's and Don'ts

So you built a new website. Now how do you get the business that you expect from the effort and expense?

The first thing to remember is to build your website for your customer. You must know your customers and the competition. Do some foot work and go to several search engines (not just the one you typically use) and type in the words you would use to locate your product or service and examine the results. Then try several different terms and phrases to locate the same product or service. Now look at your competition. Are they ranking well because they are a sponsored link, and how do you know that? How will you know if they are paying an SEO company for those rankings?

Next, look at the highest ranking websites. Do they capture your attention? Do they provide all the information you are seeking? Do you want to purchase their products or services? If they do not do all of these things then all the rankings in the world are not going to help a company be successful. So before you spend your valuable budget on SEO be sure that your website is well-designed and filled with the crucial information a potential client needs to make a purchasing decision.

“Guaranteed Rankings” – increasing your rankings within the guidelines of ethical practices will offer a slow and solid rise in search engines. If you are guaranteed a number 1 spot on the search engines ask for which search engine that is being guaranteed and ask to see past results. If the company you hire is using unethical “black hat” practices, keep in mind that your domain could be banned from the search engines all together. Research shows the faster you climb in rankings, the faster you can fall when the search engine algorithms change... and they change all the time!

“More hits equal more sales” – in theory that is correct. The more lines in the water, the more fish you can catch. However, if you are using the wrong bait, the conditions are poor or the boat has a leak…well needless to say you will sink. But with all of your marketing collateral at work simultaneously, the more your message becomes cohesive and continues to hit potential customers from all available avenues.

Don't underestimate the usefulness of a professionally designed logo, business card, brochure, signage, a catchy tag line, etc. You should also consider advertising your website in industry trade publication advertisements and other periodicals. Combining your efforts will get more sales than spending your entire advertising budget on getting top rankings. Work every possible angle to reach as large an audience as possible. Spending your marketing dollars wisely, thoroughly researching SEO options and evaluating the results of your efforts can provide your company the growth it needs!

To sum it up:

Do-
» Research the SEO company before choosing
» Ask for past clients results or testimonials
  » Footwork about your competition
» Review your site from a user's perspective (like one of your clients would see it) and      make the necessary changes to improve the look and content.
» Consider the total package -Branding is a must for name acknowledgement.

Don't-
  » Expect overnight results
» Market an unattractive, uninformed, or broken site
» Allow "black hat" practices to be used.
(not sure what these are? You deserve to know.)
