Setting up Your Email in Microsoft Outlook (2007)
If the email setup wizard starts automatically, skip to step three.
-
Go to Tools > Account Settings
-
Click on the E-mail Tab
-
Select the new… button
-
You will be prompted with a “Add New Email Account” Wizard
-
Select the First option (Exchange, Pop3, Imap)
-
User Settings
Enter Your Name, Email address and Passwords
From this point you have 2 options, you can try and let outlook auto configure your settings (outlook search’s for pop and smtp settings), or you can manually configure your account settings. If you would rather do a manual configure check the box in the lower left hand corner.
-
Manual Configuration
Server Type
Select the e-mail server used for your account, and then click Next. (POP3 and IMAP are supported. If you are unsure of which selection to pick, choose POP3 as it is most widely used.)
Internet E-mail Settings User Information
Enter the name of the person using the email & full email address
Logon Information
The User Name field needs to be the complete email address - Enter the corresponding password
Server Information
For both the Incoming mail server (POP3 or IMAP) and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) use mail.EXAMPLE.com where EXAMPLE.com is your domain name.
You may want to Test your connection by pressing the button after completing the entire page. If the test comes back ok you are ready to use your email!
